Bouchida Belem: Bouchida lives with her father and her mother. Her duties at home include caring for children and doing odd jobs.
There are 4 children in the family. Her father occasionally works and her mother occasionally works as a trader in the local market. Due to low income her family struggles to survive.
Bouchida is not presently attending school. Playing with dolls and playing group games are her favourite activities. She also attends Bible class regularly. Because of our sponsorship, Bouchida has new opportunities to learn and grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. Thank you for your concern and prayers.
Obeida Belem: Obeida lives with his father and his mother. His duties at home include doing odd jobs.
Obeida is not presently attending school. Soccer and playing group games are his favourite activities. He also attends Bible class regularly.
Please remember Obeida in your prayers. Collectively our love and support to help him to receive the assistance he needs to grow and develop.
Our sponsored twins Bouchida and Obeida live on the plains of Secteur 24 N1, home to approximately 26,000 residents. Typical houses are constructed of dirt or cement floors, brick or dirt walls and tin or thatched roofs. The primary ethnic group is Mossi and the most commonly spoken language is Dioula.
Burkina Faso, North West Africa
Country Information: Approximately 36% of children in Burkina Faso suffer from stunted growth, often as a result of malnutrition, and incidences of malaria, respiratory infection and diarrhoea are also high. The country currently holds the highest infant mortality rate of all Compassion's field countries, with approximately 82 infants dying for every 1000 born.
Compassion International began working in Burkina Faso in 2004. Over 19,000 children participate in around 93 child development centres. Compassion Australia assists over 19,000 of these children. Compassion's goal is to reach out to Burkinabe children; helping provide for them the opportunity to rise above their circumstances and become all God has created them to be.
Bouchida and Obeida live on the plains of Secteur 24 N1, home to approximately 26,000 residents. The regional diet consists of maize, beans, chicken, guinea pig, fish, bread, millet, rice and goat. Common health problems in this area include malaria and diarrhoea. Most adults are unemployed but some work as day labourers, animal herders, subsistence farmers or market traders and earn the equivalent to $US2 per month. This community needs tuition assistance and employment opportunities.
Our sponsorship allows the staff of AD Secteur 24 N1 Bobo Child Development centre to provide our twins with Bible teaching, medical check-ups, nutritious food, games, choir, handiwork activities and music lessons. All the children in this project do not attend school because they are underage. The centre staff also provide meetings and income generating activities for the parents or guardians of our sponsored twins.
Because or our sponsorship, both Israel and Sephora have new opportunities to learn and grow physically, mentally and spiritually.
